The Gentlemen's Grindhouse - Feedback 11 Months, 1 Week ago
Well, it seems to be what all the cool kids are doing these days, so I thought I'd start this.

Both Robin the Ripper (or Matt #2 as he shall now forever be known)[EDIT: Actually, he'd prefer not. -- Matt #1] and I were a bit hesitant about this at first, but we like doing it, and we hope some people dig it too. There's a couple of issues we're working on (like my breathy mic), so we shall tweak as we go.

I think though before anything, we owe a debt of gratitude to Mr Matt Dillon. We'd have probably mentioned it in the podcast, but we didn't know whether #2 or the next one would be the first Geekplanet edition...anyway. Thanks for having us, thanks for all of the sagely advice while we were trying to get this thing going, thanks for fiddling with feeds for the last few days trying to get it online, and finally thanks for the excellent logo. I know I'm biased, but I think it's the best of all the podcasts! We were both thrilled with it.

Anyway, enough of that...horror...grrr

If anyone would like to comment on anything we discuss, or make suggestions, then please do!

Aye, it is a lot of fun! I'm glad you liked it, org sir!

Tom's said it all really. It's ace to have the 'cast on here and to be a part of the site. The logo makes me grin like nobodies business when I see it! I can't wait for the badge

I've never really been one for horror but I'm always keen to learn new stuff. Very good casts so far, guys. You're certainly very well organised. On the subject of Jennifer's Body I have to say that I'm really only interested in it as it's written by Diablo Cody of Juno fame. Hopefully we may see something a little different with some good dialogue.

Also, I was recently leant the comedy zombie film Undead. Anyone know whether this is much cop or not?

I listened to the first GG last night and I'm really impressed. I loved the opening - the fade out of music with fade in of conversation (and a great Lee impersonation Matt!) was lovely, it really set up the relaxed, mellow vibe of this podcast.

It's a stroke of genius, or perhaps serendipity, that your eras of speciality just overlap in the middle; it leads to interesting conversation and perspectives, and your passion and knowledge of the subject are wonderful, if a little intimidating.

In short, this is a fantastic addition to the GeekPlanet podcast roster and I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of what you do.

Thank you! I was a bit worried about the fade over the past couple of days. Both Matt #2 and I like it, and hoped it would get the reaction that you've given. A couple of people I've spoken to were a little confused by it, saying they wondered what was going on and why there wasn't an intro straight away. Hopefully down the line, they'll realise that that's how we roll

Although in ep 2 we talk for about six minutes before the intro, maybe that was a little bit too long.
